Who Are You?:
Creative Field:
Glass and textiles.
Biography / Company Profile:

Blue Design Shed was established in 2014 by Bex Burston. It is based at the end of her pretty little garden in a village in South Cambridgeshire. Bex's love of Applied Arts has led over the years to experimentation with everything from ceramics, photography and cake decorating to bookbinding. She has settled on mostly working with glass and textiles, and occasionally wood and metal. Bex makes fun and optimistic pieces in fused glass and textiles. She loves bright positive colours, often uses imagery from nature, and with a nod to the retro. Bex gained her BTec Art Foundation at the Kent Institute of Art and Design, her BA (Hons) Applied Arts Practice at University of Hertfordshire and her PGDip Arts Management at Anglia Ruskin University. When not in her shed studio, Bex enjoys walking her Cockapoo Monty, baking with her daughter or enjoying a glass of wine or 3. Bex is a member of Cambridge Open Studios, has work at Over Gallery and Haddenham Gallery and exhibits as part of the bi-annual Grantchester Art and Craft Show.
